Misunderstanding expectations creates avoidable tensions for the individual as well as others impacted by the expectations. Peer coaches, thoughtfully selected and trained, provide clarity regarding expectations. Bonus! Internal coaches also support employees’ efforts to meet said expectations. Their experience provides those they coach with insights to processes, resources, and best practices.#internalcoaches #productivity #expectations #perceptioncoachinghttps://lnkd.in/gq-S3bUF

📣 Attention #managers and #leaders ! According to Gallup research, having clear expectations is the key to engagement and performance. It’s up to us to get it right! We’ve just recently launched our 🙌🏼Talent Empowerment 💪🏼initiative at Coastal Community Bank , aiming to empower employees, managers and teams to perform well and achieve career goals. One of the practices we’ve implemented is setting clear and documented priorities on a consistent frequency with continuous review and feedback. I love to see data supporting how we shift our organizational culture through these types of initiatives! Driving high performance doesn’t have to be hard. You just have to be clear through discussion and documentation, committed, consistent. And gotta do it top down! #leadershipmatters #performancemanagement #culturaltransformation #humanresouces #talentmanagement

Challenge: #Leaders, if you asked 3 random people in your company or department, What are we trying to accomplish this year? Will you get the same answer?Planning, communication, & transparency are three tools that will define your organization’s culture. The goal for every organization should be improving on how clearly it can articulate its plan and how each employee’s individual efforts contribute to the company’s initiatives. Employee morale and job satisfaction are closely tied to being successful and understanding their role in the organization. If the company can’t explain its goals clearly and concisely; how do you expect 100 employees to understand and unite to pull in same direction to achieve those goals? When you define your goals and communicate your goals, then you are far more likely to achieve your goals. When your whole team understands and works together to accomplish the same goal, great things happen. #strategicplanning #teamwork #communication #leadership #corporateculture

Having a sense of direction within a role is crucial in determining how best to distribute your time and energy🔋This is why I recommend: 1. Asking your manager what their main priorities are for the department and your role. This will deepen your understanding and help you recognize ways that you can add value to the work your team is doing. 2. Documenting and tracking your current tasks to support the provision of regular updates. By making your manager aware of what’s on your plate, you can collaborate on determining what’s of greatest focus. HR can support teams by considering conducting more frequent job analyses and developing team charters. How can someone reasonably execute within a role if they are unaware of what is expected of them? #HR #jobanalysis #teamcharters

Having clear expectations is a basic and fundamental employee need. And clear expectations is correlated with employee engagement according to Gallup's research. And employee engagement is correlated with productivity and retention. I say it all the time, but nonprofits can find creative and even basic ways to unlock employee engagement, even with limited resources. But you need to have someone thinking about it. If you don't know how or where to start, let's talk. #peoplemattermost #hr #employeeengagement #gallup
